Gregoris Assiotis choreographed and scored the -until then- strictly improvised Cypriot folk dances, inspired by virtuosic Russian and Greek folk dance traditions. His mother would clap rhythms and he, with his feet covered in chalk, would dance in the streets, leaving his footprints behind for others to imitate. Their popularity happened simultaneously with the attempts to shape the national identity of the newly established republic of Cyprus. His dances have been recorded as national heritage ignoring the fact that he was the sole inventor. As a reaction, he decided to never teach them again and migrate to Canada. 13 out of the 17 dances disappeared from the collective imaginary.

Date Time Location is one body of work consisting of 13 performances, in 13 locations around sunset time. Three performers enter and exit a public space, take positions and engage in a non-scripted ritual of rhythmical clapping. By aiming to synchronise, a series of failures, successes and familiar rhythms unravel.
