Sprt!, 2025
Sprt! is a choreographed lecture-performance of overflow and formal collapse. Set in a present where “the end” has already occurred, the body leaks, glitches, and repeatedly reorganises itself through cycles of failure, excess, and reassembly. The piece unfolds in a space of instability, parody, and vulnerability — a cracked mirror reflecting the shame, ecstasy, and release of a generation suspended in constant anticipation.
The project is an evolving series of performative works grounded in the Cypriot onomatopoeic verb σπουρτώ (spourto): the moment when internal pressure forces contents to burst beyond the body that contains them. This notion structures the dramaturgy of the work. Spoken text, gesture, object-use, and physical motifs accumulate toward a state of disintegration, where coherence collapses, and meaning leaks.
The stage becomes a site where identity, authenticity, functionality, and stability fall apart as a generative condition. In the ruins of form and sense, Sprt! proposes collapse as a space where something new can appear.
